Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Tech Stack Detector, available at techstackdetector.com ("the service"). By using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Tech Stack Detector analyzes publicly accessible web pages to identify the technologies they appear to be built with. For each scan, our server performs a single, ordinary HTTP page request, equivalent to a normal browser visit, and inspects the response. The service is provided free of charge and without registration.

Acceptable use

  • Only scan websites that are publicly accessible. The scanner will not access private networks, and you must not attempt to make it do so.
  • Do not use the service to harass, overload or harm any website, person or organisation.
  • Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, security controls or the caching system, including by automated means.
  • Do not use automated scripts to issue bulk scans without prior written permission.
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, its administration area or its data.

We may block, rate-limit or ban any usage that we consider abusive, at our sole discretion.

Scan results

  • Results are produced by automated heuristics (pattern matching against page content, headers and cookies). They are estimates with confidence scores, not certified facts, and may be incomplete, outdated or wrong.
  • Results are cached: a scan you request may be served from a stored result of an earlier scan, and your scan may be shown to other visitors who look up the same website.
  • You must not present scan results as authoritative statements about a website, and you use them at your own risk.

Intellectual property

The service's software, design and content are the property of the site operator. Detected technology names and logos belong to their respective owners; their appearance in results does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

Availability and changes

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy or fitness for any particular purpose, and we may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the service (which is zero for the free service).

Third-party websites

Scan results reference and link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content, policies or practices.

Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the site operator's place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
